Role and Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mess Attendant Lead to join our team at Minot AFB - Galley. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee the daily operations of the galley while helping to guide and support a diverse team of Mess Attendants that primarily consists of adults with disabilities and disabling conditions.

  • Ensure the galley runs smoothly, maintain cleanliness and order, and help deliver exceptional service to all military personnel.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Mess Attendants.
  • Ensure all team members have the support they need to succeed in their roles.
  • Oversee and assist in the daily cleaning, organization, and stocking of the galley, ensuring health and safety standards are always met.
  • Lead by example in maintaining the cleanliness of the galley, including washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining floors and surfaces to high sanitation standards.
  • Assist with managing schedules, ensuring proper coverage and that team members are effectively supported throughout their shifts.
  • Help facilitate training and development, focusing on skills related to food service, safety, and teamwork.
  • Ensure a high level of service in all aspects of the galley operation, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all galley operations.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Minimum of (1) year of food service experience (Preferred).
  • Minimum of (1) year of supervisory experience (Preferred).
  • Possess the necessary skills to read and write, respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach when working with individuals with disabilities or disabling conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, organized, and professional demeanor.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License

Physical Demands:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be me made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, gran and lift up to (75) lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk the entire shift.
