About the Position
The Sales Agent's primary responsibility is to actively sell all Colonial Williamsburg offerings to include but not limited to Colonial Williamsburg hotels, admission tickets, evening program tickets, dining, golf, etc. by utilizing effective selling techniques. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, sales-minded, customer-focused and detail-oriented with a high degree of computer literacy, the willingness to learn new processes, and the ability to become part of a dynamic work environment. Must be self-motivated and work well under pressure.
Essential Functions:
- Assist guests by selling future reservations and assisting with customer questions regarding their existing reservations
- Prompt follow up with guest inquiry leads for second chance bookings
- Answer telephone calls and provides general knowledge of the property and surrounding area including restaurants, entertainment, special events and general directions
- Strong ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail
- Deliver the highest standard of service to all customers
- Manage daily correspondences and operational tasks to exceed customer expectations and expand customer base
- Display effective computer literacy
- Possess a positive and upbeat attitude at all times
- Professional customer service nature with a desire to exceed
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications:
Education / Experience
- Minimum of two years related experience and/or training in reservation or hospitality industry is preferred but not required. Candidates with a strong sales background in non-hospitality related field will be considered. NAVIS Certification a plus.
Communication Skills
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills and possess excellent telephone etiquette. Ability to answer questions and successfully resolve issues and/or negotiate matters with tact, courtesy, and patience.
Computer and Mathematical Skills
- Must demonstrate basic computer skill with thorough knowledge of MS Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). NAVIS knowledge a plus. Ability to type quickly and correctly.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision and ability to adjust focus and handle dual monitoring.
Work Environment
- Open desk work environment and the noise level is usually moderate but is consistent.
