What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Security Engineer position at Cyber Security Innovations?
CSI is looking for a Technical Security Engineer to join our team in support of our federal customer. The Technical Security Engineer will be responsible for Security Testing, Agile Requirements Development and Implementation.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide comprehensive security architecture support to the Program. Security architecture includes requirements analysis, technical and logical design, and system guidelines and processes.
- Define security requirements and mapping requirements to security controls, selecting the most appropriate security controls for a system, designing a robust system security control pattern, and related tasks.
- Provide design input and consultation to Program by offering guidance related to security systems architecture framework.
- Provide support for the selection and implementation of minimum-security controls according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
- Provide comprehensive security architecture support to the Program.
- Provide requirements analysis, technical and logical design, and system guidelines and processes.
- Ensure that the clients enterprise architecture adequately provides the IT security mechanisms for the project, including but not limited to proper identification, authentication and authorization and adequate assurance of the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the client's assets and data.
- Deliver Security requirement specifications that cover core IA function to include the following:
- Coverage for Systems Security Requirements management to include: Systems Security; Requirements stipulations; Security Requirements decomposition; Subsystem Security; requirements allocation; Security requirements implementation validation criteria.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain an agency-specific Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Risk Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- IAM/IAT Level II or similar certification (Preferred).
- 10 years of experience in security and privacy requirements development, implementation and testing (verification and validation).
- 2-5 years of experience in developing and managing security requirements using AGILE methodologies.
- 10 years of working technical knowledge of IRS Security policies, procedures and processes, industry best practices and commonly used frameworks & standards (e.g., IRS IRM, NIST, ISO 27001-2,), and various regulations pertaining to information security, cyber risk management, compliance, and data privacy.
- Advanced written and verbal communication, specifically presentation, skills; and read, write and speak fluent English.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
