Position Overview
The Business Valuation Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive business valuations and providing critical insights to support clients in various financial matters, including litigation support, estate planning, and transaction advisory. This role requires a deep understanding of valuation methodologies and the ability to communicate findings effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough business valuations for various purposes including litigation support and estate planning.
- Analyze financial statements and market data to assess the value of business entities.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports that clearly communicate methodology and findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients in litigation cases to provide expert witness testimony and support.
- Assist in purchase price allocations and valuation of intangible assets during mergers and acquisitions.
- Support clients in gift tax planning and estate accounting matters.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations related to business valuations and taxation.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts in valuation techniques and report writing.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ASA, CFA, or CVA is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business valuation or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies and financial analysis techniques.
- Experience in litigation support and familiarity with legal procedures is a plus.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
