The Construction Project Accountant will manage all financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, costs are tracked, and financial reporting is accurate. We will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver timely financial insights and maintain compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets and forecasts to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Prepare and analyze project financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Track and manage project costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely billing and payment processes.
- Maintain accurate records of project transactions and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Procore for financial management.
- Provide support during audits and assist in the development of internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of staff accounting principles and construction accounting practices.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks and Procore.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
