EHS Specialist

We are a large chemical manufacturer with 3 manufacturing plants, with locations in the U.S. as well as globally. Our corporate headquarters is in Illinois and has been in operation for over 80 years. Our manufacturing plant located in Sterlington, LA is in search of an EH&S Specialist to add to our growing team.

Key Reponsibilities

• Understand environmental, health, and safety regulations, requirements, and ensure compliance throughout plant
• Managing, organizing, develoing, and implementing EH&S projects
• Inspect, Test, and create programs for all EH&S related equipment and resources for maintenance & plant operations
• Respond to emergencies and facilities emergency/crisis reponse as definted in site plans
• Participate, support, and train EH&S activities such as drills, assessments, audits, emergency site plans, and development of process improvements
  
  

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Toxicology, Engineering, or similar field, or professional experience of 3 years in an EH&S position
• 2-5 years of professional EH&S experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding analytical, organizational and attention to detail skills
• Experience with health, safety, compliance, EH&S management systems, technical writing, safety reports, training, and more
• Proficent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office Suite

• Experience within the manufacturing, logistics, supply chain or similar industry
• Experience with industrial hygiene and safety management
