Estimator - Electrical/Commercial Construction

Position Overview

The Estimator for Electrical and Commercial Construction plays a critical role in the pre-construction phase of projects by providing accurate cost estimates, analysis, and recommendations. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical systems and commercial construction practices to effectively prepare bids and ensure project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Conduct site assessments to gather relevant information for bid preparation.
• Prepare detailed bids, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate contracts.
• Perform risk assessments to identify potential cost impacts and risks associated with projects.
• Provide support during the project management phase to ensure estimates align with actual costs.
• Maintain an organized database of historical cost data and update pricing models as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for electrical and commercial construction projects.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and commercial construction processes.
• Experience with cost analysis, bid preparation, and contract negotiation.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
