Requirements: 5 Years Experience as a general superintendent within heavy civil construction

Position Overview

The General Superintendent will oversee and manage all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong leader who can coordinate multiple teams, maintain safety standards, and effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise multiple construction crews on heavy civil projects including roads, bridges, and underground utilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Coordinate project schedules and resources to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Review project plans and specifications to ensure all work is performed according to design.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to resolve issues and provide updates on project status.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to quality standards.
• Train and mentor site personnel in best practices for construction and safety.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of grading, excavating, concrete work, and underground utilities.
• Experience with CALTRANS projects and requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
