Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring that all equipment and systems are running efficiently and effectively. This role is pivotal in maintaining the standards of safety, quality, and productivity while managing a skilled team of technicians and coordinating with various departments to support overall operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
- Manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and maintenance services, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Oversee HVAC, electrical, and mechanical system maintenance and repair activities to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement process improvement initiatives, including 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices, to optimize maintenance operations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance activities, reporting on progress and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of equipment repair, troubleshooting, and facilities management principles.
- Experience in budget management and financial oversight for maintenance operations.
- Familiarity with vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience in project management and process improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality control and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
