Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating costs and resources for mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and industrial piping.
This role involves analyzing project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with project management to ensure effective budget management and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to understand scope and requirements.
- Perform cost analysis and prepare detailed estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project feasibility and resource needs.
- Prepare and submit bids for mechanical contracts and tenders.
- Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to evaluate project layouts and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations during estimation processes.
- Develop project schedules and timelines in conjunction with cost estimates.
- Conduct risk assessment and identify potential challenges in project execution.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing and procurement.
- Provide ongoing support and adjustments to estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
- 3 years mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, plumbing, industrial piping, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Sage, Bluebeam, Plangrid a nice plus
