Position Overview
The Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules to meet customer demands while ensuring efficient use of resources. This role involves analyzing production data, scheduling production labor, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to enhance manufacturing processes, particularly in a high-mix production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders and inventory levels.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems, particularly PLEX, to monitor production metrics and manage workflows.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to account for machinery capabilities and maintenance schedules.
- Manage production capacity and align schedules with workforce availability.
- Facilitate communication between production, sales, and logistics departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare reports on production performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing planning or scheduling.
- Understanding of production processes and machine operations, preferably with injection molding.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, experience with PLEX is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high-mix production.
