Project Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate accounting practices and financial reporting. This role will support project managers by providing timely financial information and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting processes including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Prepare and process owner billings and subcontractor billings accurately and timely.
• Conduct regular audits of project financials to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Prepare cost projections and financial reports for ongoing projects.
• Handle invoice entry and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately in accounting systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues promptly.
• Maintain records of waivers and other financial documentation relevant to projects.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in construction.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or Intacct.
• Experience with construction accounting practices and principles.
• Familiarity with Procore or similar project management software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
