Purchasing Director

The Purchasing Director for a large HOME BUILDER is responsible for analyzing current supply markets, finding and managing new vendors, negotiating contracts, and developing strategies to reduce costs. This individual is also responsible for managing daily purchasing operations, ensuring the quality of goods and services meets organizational standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.

• Analyze current supply markets to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop purchasing strategies.
• Find and manage new vendors in order to meet organizational supply needs.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure the organization is getting the best deal.
• Manage daily purchasing operations and ensure the quality of goods and services meets organizational standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies for all purchasing operations.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments in purchasing practices.
• Monitor and manage the organization's budget for purchasing.
• Track and report on purchasing metrics.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors.
• Identify opportunities for process and cost improvement.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• 2 years in the construction industry
• At least 2 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain management role.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of purchasing regulations and industry standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
