Requirements of the Purchasing Director:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, or 7 years with a Master’s degree
- Strong background in sourcing and procurement for aviation tooling
- Knowledge of aircraft documentation such as engineering manuals and part catalogs
- Familiarity with metal-mechanical manufacturing processes and custom production workflows
- Understanding of inventory and warehousing management systems
- Advanced data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Fluency in technical logistics and planning operations
- Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP or supply chain platforms
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Lead supplier strategy and contract negotiations to reduce costs and meet delivery and quality goals
- Build long-term relationships with key vendors and manage strategic procurement agreements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, logistics, and regional teams to ensure efficient material planning and flow
- Analyze data to support sourcing decisions and cost-saving opportunities
- Implement procurement strategies for multi-category sourcing
- Identify and execute competitive bidding processes
- Maintain, evaluate, and coordinate tooling logistics programs
- Support as needed
