Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular safety inspections of assigned projects and generate reports for internal improvement and compliance.
- Conduct thorough investigations of work-related incidents to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
- Train and educate associates on health and safety-related topics.
- Collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Subcontractors to ensure adherence to all safety policies.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings and other project-related meetings as needed.
- Foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization and on job sites through ongoing communication, safety meetings, and shared documentation.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on safety and OSHA regulations.
- Provide safety training and orientation to employees, project teams, subcontractors, and customers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs and visit job sites safely.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Ensure project teams are equipped with complete safety equipment, training, and resources.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of job sites, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to incorporate safety considerations into project plans and designs.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in construction safety, and integrate them into our safety programs.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a safety manager or similar role in the commercial construction industry, with a strong track record of successfully implementing safety programs.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
- Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent knowledge of construction practices, equipment, processes, and the ability to identify potential hazards.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Developed management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to direct project teams, lead safety meetings, and deliver engaging safety training sessions to communicate safety requirements.
- Procore experience preferred.
- Proficient in using safety management software, incident tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be a committed team player.
