Position Overview
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies. This role focuses on promoting a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with MSHA and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide safety training and education to employees on best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety and ensure that safety initiatives are prioritized.
- Lead incident investigations and prepare reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay current with industry safety regulations and best practices, and provide guidance to management on compliance issues.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the mining or aggregates industry.
- Extensive knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train and influence employees.
- Training for dust/silica and noise sampling strongly desired
- Experience with environmental compliance and EHS programs is desirable.
