Senior Civil Estimator - Hybrid

I spoke with this company's president on Friday, and he told me that he needs to hire a Sr. Civil Estimator in the next month with 10 years estimating experience.

Plus, he's open to hybrid work after a trial period.

He's urgently looking for a strong civil estimator and is offering a very competitive package including:

• Salary in the $200k ballpark (DOE)

They bid on sitework, excavation, and utility projects up to $20M (experience with larger projects is welcome).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site analysis and gather relevant data for accurate bidding and project planning.
• Perform materials takeoff to quantify materials and labor needed for projects.
• Collaborate with project management to develop budgets and timelines for projects.
• Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges and cost implications.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
• Utilize software tools such as AGTEK and HCSS for project estimation and scheduling.
• Analyze construction schedules to ensure projects remain on budget and on time.
• Support project managers with ongoing cost monitoring and budget tracking.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• EIT / PE a nice plus
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS and AGTEK.
