The Settlement Officer is responsible for managing the settlement process for real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and facilitating the closing of transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of closing documents and title commitments.
- Coordinate with buyers, sellers, and real estate agents to schedule and facilitate closings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies during the closing process.
- Manage escrow accounts and disbursement of funds related to transactions.
- Utilize title software such as Simplifile and Softpro for processing title and closing documents.
- Review and interpret deeds and escrow agreements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Resolve any issues that may arise during the settlement process in a proactive manner.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in settlement, title processing, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of title processing, post-closing procedures, and compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in title software, including Simplifile and Softpro.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
- Base: $70,000-$110,000
- Additional Commission based on origination
