Sr. Estimator - Heavy Civil

Overview

We are an established construction firm looking to bring on an experienced Sr. Estimator for Heavy Civil Projects. This position will be asked to evaluate blueprints, specifications, and proposals to create time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and services. Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and documents to generate estimates.
• Assess project cost-effectiveness and track costs against bids.
• Promote company services to clients and contractors.
• Pursue various project delivery methods to meet Division goals.
• Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor labor and equipment rates for estimates.
• Review and finalize bid documents.
• Conduct studies to develop standard cost data or implement cost reductions.
• Adjust cost estimates with stakeholders.
• Consult with clients and vendors to resolve issues.
• Maintain vendor lists and review subcontracts.
• Visit projects to provide improvement recommendations.
• Assist with change orders and project budgets.
• Review material and labor requirements.
• Calculate cost factors for management purposes.
• Participate in meetings and develop long-term plans.
• Adhere to and enforce safety policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of business, management, and customer service principles.
• Proficiency in English language and grammar.
• Understanding of production processes and quality control.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to solve problems using appropriate mathematical methods.
• Advanced knowledge of the construction industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and direct the workforce.
• Detail-oriented and adaptable to change.
• Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Positive representation of the organization.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in a related field; or equivalent experience and training.
