We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support our construction projects. This role is crucial to our financial health and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions for construction projects
- Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with industry standards
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for residential and commercial construction projects
- Conduct reconciliations of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor project costs and analyze variances to ensure financial objectives are met
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and support
- Utilize construction accounting software such as Sage 300, Textera, and Procore to streamline financial processes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficient in construction accounting principles and practices
- Experience with Sage 300, Textera, Procore, or similar construction accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
