The Lead Mold Maker is responsible for overseeing the mold making process, ensuring that all molds are designed and built to meet the highest standards of quality and precision. This role involves collaboration with design engineers, management, and production teams to deliver effective mold solutions that enhance production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and create precision molds for manufacturing processes.
- Supervise and mentor junior mold makers and apprentices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop mold designs that meet product specifications.
- Operate and maintain CNC machines, lathes, and other mold-making equipment.
- Inspect and test molds for quality assurance and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mold design and production.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the workplace.
- Previous experience as a mold maker or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of mold design and building techniques.
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines and lathes.
- Experience with 5-axis machining and hard milling techniques.
- Familiarity with Tool & Die design and processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
