Role purpose:
Cyberhawk is seeking a Part 107 Certified drone pilot to execute distribution line inspections . Working in a pilot pairing or as a single-person operator, the Pilot is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of field flight plans to provide Cyberhawk’s clients with reliable data to make safety-critical decisions on the maintenance of assets, including wildfire protection. This role is a seasonal position that is expected to last about 6 months.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) operations in a controlled manner as PIC (Pilot in Command) across multiple UAS platforms, systems, and payloads.
- Perform Pre/In-flight procedures and checks while adhering to company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to maximize productivity and minimize risk
- Perform Post operations management, including data handover and flight documentation.
- Log daily operations using an in-house work-pack management system.
- Assist with job preparation such as the creation of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement), documentation, equipment management, organizing travel & accommodation.
- Collaborate with Planning Department to ensure proper and effective implementation of SOPs and encourage a culture of continuous improvement
- Adhere to Cyberhawk’s highest standards of health and safety.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Hold a valid Part 107 certificate.
- Aware of current FAA regulations.
- Minimum 50 hours of experience in operating unmanned systems in a “live wire” environment for electrical utility inspection
- Previous drone flying experience and ability to learn advanced flying skills.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to operate complex equipment per SOPs.
- Highly computer literate.
- Possess excellent communication skills with an ability to operate effectively as part of a team.
- Experience with customer relations, including face-to-face interactions.
- Have a professional approach to dynamic risk management and risk mitigation.
- Be safety conscious with the ability to operate safely in a diverse and high-pressure environment.
- Must be able to work remotely within a team with minimal supervision.
- Must have good problem-solving abilities.
- Unrestricted US driving license.
- Physically fit with a genuine love of all things outdoors.
- Physical demands include the a bility to crouch, stoop, and lean over; must be able to lift 25-50 pounds 20% of the time
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Hold an active TWIC card
- Knowledge of photography
- Knowledge of airspace management.
- Knowledge/experience of oil & gas, utilities, or renewables industries
- Currently located in California
Schedule:
- Alternating 5 and 6-day workweek
- 8 - 10 hour workdays
