Problem Solving- Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND You qualify for the GS-11 and GS-12 grade levels if you possess information technology related experience and/or education EDUCATION: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing your qualifications on education. GS-11 Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR EXPERIENCE: GS-11: In addition to the above requirement, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level performing the following duties: Assessing the prevalence of vulnerabilities across systems and contributing to the prioritization and scoring of vulnerabilities. Tracking disclosure and response timelines, monitoring communications, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Identifying the class of weakness for a routine vulnerability and managing routine coordinate vulnerability cases. GS-12: In addition to the above requirement, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level performing the following duties: Developing response strategies, identifying and validating evidence of exploitation, and contributing to detailed technical vulnerability analysis reports. Using knowledge of system architectures, operating systems, and network protocols to develop an understanding of vulnerabilities and communicate to them senior analysts. Communication abilities sufficient to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, prepare and present briefings, and participate in technical discussions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
