As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing various projects for the client. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Project or Program Manager, assisting with larger, more complex initiatives. This role requires a good understanding of standard project management practices, along with a degree of creativity and independence in achieving project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and coordinate work teams, adhering to standard project management practices such as PMI’s framework.
- Understand and align with the business and technical objectives of projects, working closely with project sponsors.
- Create project charters, work plans, and track budget and schedule progress using appropriate metrics.
- Establish project organization, methodologies, and define roles and responsibilities within the team.
- Document risks and develop mitigation plans, while managing project scope and implementing communication plans.
- Build and lead effective teams, assigning tasks to team members and evaluating outcomes.
- Negotiate resources and ensure effective communication with stakeholders and project sponsors.
- Identify, track, and ensure resolution of issues, removing barriers to project success.
- Provide technical support to project team members, handling complex application features and technical designs.
- Manage a group of applications system analysts, directing the design and implementation of components for complex application features.
- Maintain project plans, including tasks, schedules, estimates, and status, and disseminate information to team members and customers.
- Direct corrective actions where performance falls below objectives, ensuring quality, productivity, and consistency.
- Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of projects, summarizing progress and outcomes.
- Experience in schedule management and vendor management.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies (strongly preferred).
- Experience in designing, planning, and coordinating work teams within a project management framework.
- Strong understanding of business and technical objectives, with the ability to create project charters and work plans.
- Proven ability to manage project scope, risks, and communication plans.
- Experience in building and leading effective teams, with strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with complex application features, technical designs, and managing applications system analysts.
- Ability to work independently, with a strong focus on achieving project goals and objectives.
- Professional project management certification is highly desirable.
