THE OPPORTUNITY
As a People Ops Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our people operations. You will work closely with the HR Director and other department leads to administer HR policies and programs, support People Team initiatives, manage employee records, and help us create a world class culture and operations workflow. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, loves diving into systems and process, and is excited to grow within the HR function of a scaling, fast-paced start-up.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Onboarding New Employees
- Collaborate with TA, IT, and our EX team to ensure our new hires have all the necessary equipment and information to have a smooth onboarding experience.
- Own the setup of new hire profiles in our HR tools - HiBob, Sequoia, Deel, and Remote.
- Collaborate, innovate, and own the process around communicating with our new Cyerans to set them up for success on Day One!
HR Administration
- Own and become an expert on our Employee Handbook, developing it as we scale.
- Navigate end-to-end lifecycle processing, from start to last day.
- Maintain and update employee records (electronic and paper files) to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Prepare HR documents as needed such as employment contracts, letters of offer, policy updates, termination paperwork, promotion letters, etc
- Handle day-to-day HR queries and general admin support with the Global HR team
Benefits Support
- Take ownership of relationships with benefits providers, maintaining employee enrollments and resolving any benefits-related issues.
- Stay updated on local labor laws and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Help facilitate our employee leave process - think parental leave, bereavement support, etc.
HR Policy & Compliance
- Maintain HR policies and documentation to ensure they remain compliant with relevant legislation.
- Assist in creating and implementing HR policies that reflect the unique needs of a data security environment (e.g., confidentiality requirements, secure handling of employee and candidate data).
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, data security protocols, and labor regulations.
- Partner with our PEO, Sequoia, on items like EEO-1 and ACA Reporting
HR Projects & Process Improvement
- Participate in the development and rollout of new HR initiatives, systems, and processes.
- Leverage HR analytics and insights to recommend improvements to our people operations lane.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HR processes align with overall company goals and values.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role (start-up experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with data security or tech industry HR practices is an advantage.
- Proficiency in HR technology with a constant growth-mindset For context, we use HiBob, Sequoia, Deel, Remote, Notion, Comeet, Monday, Checkr, and more!
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, service-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate with team members across departments.
- Familiarity with labor laws, compliance standards, and best practices in HR.
- Basic understanding of data privacy principles and the importance of maintaining confidential information.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
In addition to a standard benefits and equity package, we offer a generous salary. Final compensation will vary based on seniority and relevance of experience, location, and position requirements.
This role may be eligible for potential merit increases based on factors such as individual or company performance, time in role, and other discretionary factors.
