Sr SQL Dba with Advanced AWS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator with a deep understanding of SQL database management, advanced AWS infrastructure, and cloud-based database solutions. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of hands-on experience in managing large-scale SQL Server databases, a strong command of database performance optimization, disaster recovery, security, and automation, and advanced expertise in AWS database services like Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
Experience:
- 15 years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator, including extensive experience with SQL Server and cloud technologies.
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud platforms and services, particularly AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redshift.
- Deep knowledge of database performance optimization, troubleshooting, and tuning.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, query optimization, and high availability features (Always On, Clustering, etc.).
- Advanced skills with AWS services including RDS, EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and others.
- Proficiency in database scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Nagios, Datadog, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Strong understanding of networking and security best practices within the AWS environment.
- Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified Database Specialty (preferred).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (desirable).
- Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
