Job Description: The Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit is responsible for delivering patient care through an established nursing process. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
- Collaborating with professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achieving desired patient outcomes.
- Contributing to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
- Collecting patients' health data.
- Analyzing assessment data to determine patient problems.
- Identifying expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
- Developing a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Implementing interventions identified in the plan of care.
- Evaluating patients' progress toward the attainment of outcomes.
- Assisting with the plan of care, evaluating, modifying, and coordinating care, and communicating effectively with other disciplines.
- Delegating tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing standards.
- Conducting discharge planning and assisting patients/significant others to obtain knowledge about illness, injury prevention, and teaching.
- Maintaining confidentiality with all information.
- Performing any and all other duties as assigned.
- Floating to similar units within their scope, as needed based on facility needs.
