- Perform month end close procedures and prepare month end reconciliations.
- Assist with quarterly and annual audit processes as needed.
- Assist and provide direction to others within the accounting department and advise direct report of potential areas for improvement.
- Ensure accounting task completion in accordance with policies, procedures, and business strategies.
- Create all financial reports in accordance with appropriate accounting framework.
- Review monthly reconciliation of Bank Accounts.
- Prepare any internal review documents.
- Reconcile GL Balance Sheet accounts.
- Prepare timely and accurate management reports as required.
- Assist senior management with special projects as required.
- Financial/Pricing: 20%.
- Resource Qualifications: 30%.
- Interview Process: 50%.
- Experience using accounting principles and Canadian public sector accounting standards or equivalent. 5 years
- CPA designation. Yes or No
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact and collaborate professionally with a diverse group. 5 years
- Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships across the organization, including executive level. 5 years
- Experience with research, analysis and problem solving. 5 years
- High customer service skills and ethics. Yes or No
- Experience with and knowledge of financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements, and using Microsoft Excel. 5 years
- Relevant work experience and experience with Microsoft Office. 5 years
- The ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records. 5 years
- Experience with public sector accounting. 5 years
- Experience in the Government environment or an environment of equivalent size and complexity. Yes or No
- Experience with the Government financial system (1GX). Yes or No
