Requirements:
- The Telecommunications engineer IV will be responsible for architecting and implementing the VOIP infrastructure, as well as ongoing management of it.
- The candidate should have in depth knowledge of Cisco Call Manager/Cisco Technologies.
- Problem solving ability will be crucial to this role.
- Providing support to our end users/customers will be vital.
- They should have a basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking and how VOIP relies on it.
- Managing the voice infrastructure.
- Leading and mentoring 2-3 junior engineers (some through vendors).
- Will not directly manage vendor staff but provide guidance to junior in-house engineers.
- The role may involve upgrading an older Cisco Call Manager version in an 8-device cluster.
- Managing voice-related issues, particularly from global sites (including some in Europe).
- Handling customer service with users being treated as clients.
- Ongoing hardware refreshes, cleanup of outdated equipment, and regular maintenance.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Preferred Skills:
- General knowledge of other Cisco technologies.
- CCNA, specifically in the telecommunications or collaboration field.
- Ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a voice environment.
- Cisco Call Manager (CUCM).
- Cisco Unity.
- Cisco Voice Gateways.
- SIP Trunking.
- Expert knowledge of Cisco IP telephony solutions.
- Design/maintain VOIP architecture.
