Role Summary
The Project Accountant for a vital role in the ongoing success of the division. This role will primarily be responsible for the set-up, monitoring and reporting on project financials for the construction division. This individual will work closely with all departments of the organization including project management, finance, estimating, and administration.
Responsibilities
- Gather all relevant documents and set up new projects in the company’s ERP system.
- Set up phase codes budgets based on predetermined estimates and schedule of values.
- Initiate monthly reviews with project management to analyze project performance.
- Prepare accurate and timely AIA construction billings in accordance with contract guidelines.
- Gather necessary support to timely and accurately issue contract change orders.
- Partner with VP of Finance at month-end to determine project profitability and revenue recognition.
- Secure subcontractor lien waivers to accompany customer billings.
- Participate in project related meetings as necessary.
- Drive collection efforts and respond to customer billings inquiries.
- Close projects once fully billed and completed.
- Prepare project financial reports and other reports as required by management.
- Gather necessary support to timely and accurately issue contract change orders.
- Partner with VP of Finance on other accounting tasks / assignments.
