Cypress Environmental Consulting is an environmental services provider based in Houston, Texas and provides support for projects located throughout the southwestern United States. Our team is growing, and we are seeking a full-time GIS Specialist to support our team in the Houston office.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position will include providing GIS support for natural and cultural resources assessments. Key technical capabilities include :
- Assist the preparation of field equipment, maps, and data dictionaries for field staff; post-process and manage field data; and create map products using established protocols and templates,
- Communicate workload with the team to ensure that productivity goals are met and that projects are delivered on time and on budget,
- Contribute to a collaborative work environment including project managers and other staff,
- Maintain quality of work consistent with CEC's standards and practices,
- Use Esri ArcGIS Pro for data management, production / editing, spatial analyses, and for efficient production of high-quality field maps and report figures,
- Manage Trimble GPS data and ArcGIS data and applications in an organized manner,
- Utilize associated applications such as TerraSync and Trimble Pathfinder Office for creation of data dictionaries and file transfer applications,
- Assist the development of and follow data management Best Practices and provide technical support for a variety of data collection systems,
- Create cartographic-quality map products using ArcGIS Pro and Online,
- Help design, create, maintain, and QA / QC geospatial databases using ArcGIS.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field
Completion of ESRI GIS Certificate, or equivalent college course
2-years professional work experience utilizing ArcPro software
