What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership - Elementary Schools position at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
- Valid Texas administrator’s certificate; and
- Minimum of five (5) years experience as a public school administrator with experience as an elementary building principal required.
- Exemplifies instructional leadership, personal scholarship, a collaborative leadership style, personal integrity, strong interpersonal skills, effective communications skills; and
- Visionary leader in public schools to work collaboratively with district leadership, principals, and community members to support the preparation of learners for the 21st century.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2021-2022
Pay Grade: EL-1
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support for elementary principals.
- Supervise and evaluate elementary principals.
- Coordinate leadership initiatives for professional development for aspiring and current principals.
- Process concerns expressed by parents, patrons, and personnel.
- Serve as hearing officer for unresolved formal complaints under policies FNG and DGBA at Level Two.
- Assist in facilitating academic achievement meetings for elementary campuses.
- Participate in the interview process for selecting elementary principals.
- Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local Board policy in the areas assigned.
- Assist in facilitating the coaching and mentoring programs for new principals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Officer for School Leadership.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Frequent district-wide and occasional overnight travel. Frequent outdoor exposure.
