QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources or Leave/Disability environment
- Knowledge of administration of leave programs and applicable laws (Federal, State, Local);
- Proficient in the use of software to develop spreadsheets, databases and perform word processing;
- Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and other relevant employment laws.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of individuals and complex issues;
- Demonstrated personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Strong oral and written communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$59,028 (BA-3)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2025-2026
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead Human Resource Leave Specialist(s) in processing leave and supporting employees through the leave process.
- Serves as the final authority on complex and sensitive leave of absence cases, using sound judgment, thorough knowledge of applicable laws and policies, and a high level of discretion to make final determinations on behalf of the leave team
- Maintain leave software, including but not limited to updating calendars, updating communications, integration and support needs.
- Provide training related to legal and procedural aspects for all types of available leave (Federal, State and Local).
- Supervise and monitor the leave team, ensuring accuracy following the leave process and associated documentation.
- Initiate and/or respond to incoming and outbound calls, emails, and system notifications of leave requests and information requests.
- Respond to employee leave requests and concerns and provide clarification and support using effective customer service
- Track all cases reported, statuses, and return to work dates and be able to report statistical data as needed.
- Ensure data integrity of information pushed from leave software to eFinance system.
- Communicate with Ancillary HR departments as needed.
- Support and coordinate with HR Directors regarding medical leave policy and employee leaves.
- Collaborate with payroll, and benefits teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave banks, leave-related payroll and benefits adjustments.
- Develop and maintain leave-related policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Serve as the liaison between Human Resources and Health Services teams when applicable.
- Consult, coordinate and partner with vendors and cross-functional teams and systems as appropriate.
- Escalate issues to the proper management resource as appropriate.
- All other duties as assigned by the director of human resources.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
