What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Revenue Operations position at Cypress Health Partners?
Cypress Health Partners (CHP) is the leading provider of physical therapy services (Bay State Physical Therapy and MVPT Physical Therapy) in the Northeast, operating 160 clinics with a steadfast commitment to clinical leadership and exceptional patient experiences. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced leader to join our team as the Vice President of Revenue Operations.
Position Overview
The Vice President of Revenue Operations will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provide strategic leadership and hands-on oversight across Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Credentialing, and Payor Relations. This role is critical to ensuring CHP maintains efficient, compliant, and high-performing operations that support our growth and ability to deliver best-in-class care. The role focuses primarily on managing payor-related issues and optimizing internal processes rather than rate negotiations.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in RCM, a collaborative leadership style, and a track record of driving operational excellence. Familiarity with the physical therapy industry, experience with major clearinghouses (with direct experience in Waystar), and knowledge of Raintree (EMR) systems are strong advantages. This position will have a strong Director of Revenue Cycle Management to support day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Cycle Management (RCM): Oversee and optimize all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, collections, cash posting, and patient registration, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong outcomes.
- Credentialing: Lead and refine the credentialing process to ensure timely onboarding and compliance with payor requirements.
- Payor Relations: Manage relationships with payors to resolve operational issues, streamline workflows, and maintain positive partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and finance teams to drive cross-functional alignment and results.
- Analyze RCM and credentialing metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance performance.
- Develop and implement scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools to quickly identify challenges, measure performance, and drive accountability.
- Drive process automation and operational efficiency to enhance the overall revenue cycle and reduce manual efforts.
- Ensure robust oversight of verification and authorizations to streamline the patient registration process and reduce denials.
- Serve as the internal expert for revenue operations tools and platforms, with direct experience in Waystar and familiarity with Raintree.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies across all revenue-related functions.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, with a proven track record of leadership and process improvement.
- Experience in the healthcare landscape; physical therapy experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Familiarity with major clearinghouses, with direct experience in Waystar; prior experience with Raintree EMR is a significant plus.
- Demonstrated ability to develop scorecards, dashboards, and metrics to quickly identify challenges and improve performance.
- Strong understanding of the patient registration process, verification, and authorizations workflows.
- Proven ability to identify and implement process automation and efficiency improvements.
- Ability to lead teams and processes in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence.
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership abilities.

- Play a pivotal leadership role in a growing, mission-driven organization.
- Collaborate with a dynamic, forward-thinking executive team.
