GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for contacting patient(s) for scheduling, rescheduling and canceling all radiology services on a daily basis. Complete imaging questionnaire to ensure testing is safe for patient(s) at time of scheduling; consulting with the radiology team to confirm as needed. Ensure proper orders, authorizations, verification and patient demographics are obtained and entered into system at time of scheduling. Communicating clearly to patient and physician office(s) of appointed scheduled times to maintain great customer satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate daily in all job functions and interactions with patients, customers, coworkers, managers, and physicians the mission and Standards of Behavior of Cypress Pointe Hospital.
- Perform job duties professionally, consistently, and effectively to maintain and/or exceed assigned goals to support the success of the department and Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital.
- Responsible for scheduling Radiology serves into the CPSI Radiology Scheduling Module.
- Responsible for maintaining all radiology orders and ensure that patients are called in a timely manner
- Responsible for contacting the physician’s office to notify of all unsuccessful attempts in contacting a patient for requested imaging.
- Responsible for obtaining patient and clinical information pertinent to scheduling a patient for imaging services. This information includes but is not limited to patient/guarantor demographics, insurance information, physician orders, and pre-certification from physician’s office. Calculate patient responsibility due and inform the patient of fee prior to visit.
- Ability to navigate insurance portals to research policy and benefit information.
- Responsible for scanning the documents received from the physician’s office upon scheduling services.
- Liaison between physicians and patients to determine radiology rescheduling or cancels and communicate the scheduling changes to team members in various departments daily.
- Communicates with Radiology Manager any unusual cases or extenuating circumstances when testing is scheduled to prevent any interruptions to the patient flow process and diagnostic testing.
- Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with patients, physicians, vendors, and employees of all departments.
- Back up registration and scheduling as needed
- Handle all special requests appropriately and timely assigned from the Director of Patient Access, OR Manager, and/or Administration.
- Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Must be able to multi-task and flex working schedule (including late evenings or a rare Saturday) to ensure customer satisfaction, completion of job duties, and to support the operations of the Registration department.
· Demonstrates a consistent high degree of accuracy in accomplishments of daily activities.
· Possess knowledge of scheduling diagnostic testing/ procedures according to CPSH Policies.
· Possess a working knowledge of computer utilized for scheduling and data entry.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA Compliance on a daily basis.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Satisfactory completion of high school or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the healthcare setting in registration, insurance verification and/or scheduling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Excellent organization and meticulous attention to detail.
