Pay: $14.50-$15 per hour based on experience

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The bartender is responsible for bar service in the Community cocktail lounge.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

Essential Job Duties:

1. Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
Answers pertinent questions about drink items.

2. Clears all tableware from tables and bar after service.
3. Cleans all glassware and dishes, including ashtrays, and distributes.
4. Stocks, restocks and rotates supplies.
5. Prepares garnishes for bar use. Prepares snack trays.
6. Maintains all documents necessary to accurately account for resident and guest charges.
7. Assists supervisor with inventory of supplies.

Set tables and maintain workstations in proper order. Take order, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.

  • Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, assist with dish washing, and reset tables.
  • Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.

Other Duties:

1. Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.

2. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work area.
3. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
4. Completes all assigned cleaning tasks.
5. Informs supervisor of equipment and supply needs.
6. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

7. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
2. Experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining experience preferred.
3. Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS :

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
