Job Description : General Summary :
The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for conducting the warehouse inventory cycle count process, per applicable cGMPs, SOPs, company policies / regulations, and OSHA safety requirements. The cycle count includes the physical count process as well as related inventory transactions (adjustments, transfers, inquiries, etc.). The Inventory Specialist will have broad knowledge of those areas within the current ERP system affecting warehouse inventory accuracy and will perform and document all related inventory transactions in a timely manner. The Inventory Specialist, when necessary, will work together (assist) the manufacturing materials / planning areas in all inventory matters directly affecting the accuracy of the warehouse inventories, or inventory transactions affecting the manufacturing area that could have originated from the warehouse area.
The Inventory Specialist is also responsible for the Expired inventory disposal process, from its removal from current inventory within the ERP system inventory upon reaching expiration date, to its final physical removal process from warehouse storage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs the warehouse cycle count process and all related functions as per applicable SOPs, performs other physical inventories as needed, completing process in a timely manner, and file relevant cycle count documentation when applicable.
- Processes other warehouse inventory related adjustments / transfers in a timely manner, updating company ERP system as required. Document and file such transactions for reference purposes.
- Research and correct inventory related variances in our ERP system, document correction, and file for reference as applicable.
- Performs root cause analysis and communicates findings to the team. Leads counter-measure to mitigate similar errors in the future.
- When requested, relocates damaged inventory from current storage location, performs the corresponding ERP adjustment transaction, document adjustment and file. Relocates material to designated area until final disposal.
- Manage the Expired inventory disposal process. Upon expiration, removes expired inventory from current storage location, removes inventory balance from the ERP inventory system, re-labels material with "EXPIRED" label and relocates to the warehouse expired materials storage area.
- Enters all relevant expired materials data into the warehouse Expired Materials data base for record / traceability purposes until final physical disposal.
- Assist the Expired Materials physical disposal process as instructed by management.
- Update Expired Materials data base after the physical disposal process is completed.
- Completes monthly Cycle Count and Expired Materials metrics reports as requested by management.
- When requested, research and completes other warehouse inventory related reports that may be needed by other departments such as Finance regarding inventory levels, adjustments and other transactions that may have financial or cGMP impact.
- Provides support to the manufacturing Scheduling / Planning areas to help correct inventory discrepancies, address inventory inquiries, prioritize inventory transactions affecting manufacturing, etc.
- Provide supports to other warehouse operations (Receiving, storage, issues / returns, etc.) as needed.
- Maintains a safe work environment by performing all assigned warehouse functions in a safe manner, using the corresponding PPE and warehouse equipment to prevent accidents.
- Operates all warehousing material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklift, company truck, van, et cetera.) in a safe manner to perform the cycle count process or any other related warehouse operation.
- Keeps the transit areas (hallway, warehouse aisles, doors, traffic ways, et cetera.) unobstructed by objects that may interfere with free and safe traffic of people or warehouse equipment.
- Maintains corresponding work areas housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles consistent with an office warehouse environment. The employee may have to perform work in cold conditions (refrigerated storage, frozen storage rooms, transportation vehicles, and out of doors) for short periods. During warm weather, the employee may be required to work for short periods in high temperatures out of doors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and consistent to an office warehouse environment.
