We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Complex Director of People & Culture to join our leadership team at our prestigious complex resort, which encompasses two exceptional properties. This pivotal role will lead our human resources function, focusing on creating a vibrant and inclusive workplace culture, fostering employee engagement, and driving strategic HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and have local experience in Puerto Rico, along with a strong background in complex resort management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the overall business objectives of both properties, ensuring a focus on employee engagement, performance management, and talent development.
- Lead a team of 7 HR professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance team capabilities and promote a culture of excellence.
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, and talent management processes to attract and retain top talent, while ensuring a diverse workforce that reflects the community.
- Collaborate closely with department heads to provide HR support, addressing any personnel issues, performance management needs, and employee relations matters.
- Champion a culture of inclusivity and employee engagement by implementing initiatives that promote well-being, recognition, and professional growth among all staff members.
- Analyze HR metrics and employee feedback to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, while mitigating legal risks.
- Foster relationships with local communities and organizations to promote the resort as an employer of choice and enhance recruitment efforts.
- Manage training and development programs that equip employees with the skills and knowledge necessary for their personal and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a complex resort environment.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and juggle various HR functions within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of local labor laws and requirements in Puerto Rico; local PR experience is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English with excellent communication skills in both languages.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, talent development, and organizational change management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in HR information systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; no work permits available.
