We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Resort General Manager to oversee the operations of our luxury resort. As a key leader within our company, you will be responsible for managing multiple departments and ensuring seamless operations, exceptional guest experiences, and effective property services.
Key Responsibilities
- Resort Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including departments such as Food & Beverage, Guest Services, Property Management, and Maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Owner & Guest Satisfaction: Ensure all departments consistently deliver high standards of service, fostering a culture of exceptional hospitality and acting as a point of contact for owners and guests.
- Property Management: Maintain the highest level of upkeep of resort facilities, villas, and infrastructure, working closely with the Property Services Director to execute maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Leadership & Supervision: Manage and mentor the Resort Operations Manager, Property Services Director, and their teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Financial Management: Oversee budget preparation, financial analysis, and revenue management to achieve financial objectives while controlling costs.
- Employee Development: Drive employee engagement, training, and development programs to deliver exceptional service through high performance and positive morale.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations and maintain safety protocols for staff, guests, and property.
- Operational Excellence: Implement and uphold resort policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to achieve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Communication & Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact between the Executive Management team, department heads, and staff, fostering clear and open communication across all levels.
- Business Development: Collaborate with Rental Sales, Marketing, and Reservations teams to increase occupancy rates, drive revenues, and enhance the resort's market position.
- Inter-Company Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in HR, Real Estate, Construction, Marketing, and other departments to ensure a smooth and seamless operation.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Lead initiatives focused on sustainability and innovation to ensure the resort operates in harmony with its natural surroundings while maintaining a competitive edge.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in luxury resort or hotel management with a track record of success in luxury hospitality.
- Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and direct reports at various levels.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and senior management.
- Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue management within a resort environment.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills with a focus on guest service and operational efficiency.
- Owner & Guest-Centric: Passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating exceptional owner and guest experiences.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with property management systems (PMS - Opera Cloud experience preferred), reservation platforms, and other relevant software tools.
- Sustainability: Awareness and commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
- Teamwork: Ability to work within a complex organization with a strong and involved Executive Team and multiple non-direct-reporting departments.
Additional Requirements
- Ensure all reporting departments adhere to local statutory requirements, including legal and local government requirements.
- Maintain licensing/certification as required by the employer or regulatory body.
- Responsible for any other tasks as assigned. Job duties and responsibilities may vary at times and throughout the season.
