The FP&A Finance Manager role supports D&H’s Logistics and Transportation team, focusing on cost evaluation, strategic initiatives, and KPI/report creation and evaluation. This includes data gathering and preparation, analysis, and summarization of findings. The Finance Manager will partner with Logistics leadership, various internal departments, and external vendors as needed for different projects and requests.

The FP&A Finance Manager role supports D&H’s Logistics and Transportation team, focusing on cost evaluation, strategic initiatives, and KPI/report creation and evaluation. This includes data gathering and preparation, analysis, and summarization of findings. The Finance Manager will partner with Logistics leadership, various internal departments, and external vendors as needed for different projects and requests.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day analytical requests of the Logistics and FP&A departments; focus on carrier optimization, claims reduction, and inventory placement.
- Utilize database tools (Cognos, Tableau, SQL) and Excel to identify and effectively communicate key metrics to senior management; provide actionable recommendations for projects.
- Construct simulation models and analyze the impacts and benefits of investments and changes considered by the organization.
- Support and manage projects, such as carrier contract negotiations, network optimization, LTL lane evaluations, to achieve cost/quality/service objectives based on data analysis.
- Provide ongoing monitoring/reporting on critical projects to the Executive team as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments throughout D&H to establish partnerships and bridge the gap between Finance and Operations.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; a Major in Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Mathematics/Quantitative Business Analysis, or Supply Chain is recommended but not required.
- Prior experience or knowledge in logistics, transportation or supply chain services or closely related field is recommended.
- 5-7 years’ experience building financial models.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
- Prior experience or knowledge in business intelligence systems (Cognos, Tableau, SQL, etc) a plus.
