About theRole :
The ProjectSales Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, timely, andprofessional project cost estimates and proposals. This role requires stronganalytical, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as a thoroughunderstanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Project Scoping and Collaboration : Collaborate with Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and clients to defineand clarify project scopes of work (SOWs). This includes conductingpre-construction reviews with sales and construction personnel and post-projectcost assessments with the construction and sales teams to improve proposalaccuracy and analyze win / loss data for pricing adjustments. Conduct meetings(on-site or remotely) with sales representatives, subcontractors, and clientsto clarify SOWs and generate quotes / proposals.
- Cost Estimation and QuotationDevelopment : Develop detailed, itemized costestimates for equipment, installation, start-up (including training, ifrequired), labor, and materials. This includes :
o Reviewing project engineereddrawings, geotechnical soil reports, bid requirements, and specifications,noting specific requirements from pre-bid walk-throughs.
o Confirming, negotiating, andsecuring accurate costs from suppliers and subcontractors, consideringestablished D&H United pricing, special vendor / customer pricing,manufacturer trade-in credits, and vendor incentives. This requirescoordination with D&H United Procurement and Sales personnel.
o Identifying and estimating allconstruction and service labor and material costs, defining labor hour requirementsby project phase (daily, weekly, and monthly totals).
o Analyzing cost-affecting data(e.g., surcharges, company productivity goals) and incorporating it intoestimates.
o Ensuring well-written SOWs withclearly defined exclusions in estimates and final quotes.
