Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of foundry operations, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and cost standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of foundry processes, and the ability to optimize workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the iron foundry, including melting, molding, casting, and finishing processes.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency, reducing waste and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage and mentor a team of supervisors and production staff.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to uphold product standards and address defects.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for equipment such as furnaces, molds, and machinery.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and manage operational budgets, controlling costs without compromising quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in foundry operations or a similar manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of iron casting processes, including melting, molding, and core-making.
- Proven ability to lead teams and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and environmental regulations in industrial settings.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
