D&L Parts Company, formerly known as D&L Appliance Parts, was established in 1955. Our American, family-owned company was created for the everyday handyman in need of the right parts, but unwilling to pay big box stores prices. Over the last 65 years, we realized the contractor’s emerging need for an all in one Parts, Tools, Appliances, and HVAC distributor. Our company took this as a challenge to create a store that fulfills everyone’s needs while staying true to our original purpose. To accomplish this, we expanded our locations, inventory, and product lines. Currently, we have 28 convenient locations across Virginia, North and South Carolina. We distribute both wholesale and retail, repair/replacement parts, accessories, maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment for major Appliances, Refrigeration, Residential, Light Commercial, Heating, and Air Conditioning brands. Since the beginning, D&L has devoted to servicing all customers from the do-it-yourselfers (DIY) to servicers, and contractors. No matter the size job, we are there every step of the way. A Brief Overview

Our customers are very important to D&L Parts and it is extremely important to maintain exceptional customer service and treat all customers with the utmost respect at all times. An Inside/Outside Sales Representative will be expected to not only play a key role in negotiating with clients, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing sales of products and services but also be a team player. While supporting and assisting the branch with order intake, you will be serving as a liaison between our company and current or potential customers. The individual will be driven and look for ways to improve customer relations by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of products, procedures, and policies.

Customer Service Answer & respond promptly to customer inquiries or complaints.

  • Liaison between D&L & customers for up-to-date pricing, new products, procedures, service & latest products.
  • Assist with Inside Counter Sales when requested.
  • Knowledge of all D&L promos, flyers, catalogs, pricing & other marketing materials to inform & serve D&L customers better.

Customer Retention/Lead Generation:

  • Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers based within an assigned sales territory.
  • Generate, develop, maintain, & service new customer business relationships in order to meet sales quotas through cold calling, prospecting & documented onsite visits.
  • Schedule appointments & meet perspective and assigned customers in order to present and sell D&L products.
  • Update & maintain customer accounts including contact names & numbers in company CRM.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all leads, customer accounts, and sales.
  • Strategically negotiating with potential and existing customers to close sales.

Communication:

  • Effective communication & planning to conduct daily sales presentations by physically meeting customers.
  • Provide effectively detailed information on various products, programs, or services offered by D&L.
  • Complete daily required documentation back to your manager as requested.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet their needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Meet established sales quota to new or assigned customers on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Researching competitors' products and pricing as well as market conditions.
  • Attend and participate in conferences, trade shows, departmental & training meetings as needed.
  • Traveling within an assigned sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers.
  • Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, & tact to portray D&L in a positive, professional manner.
  • Operate within Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with D&L Company Policies & Handbook.
  • Participate in annual inventory.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • 2 years or more sales experience.
  • 2 years or more HVAC and or appliance parts knowledge OR 2 years or more HVAC appliance maintenance.
  • Ability to operate branch/office equipment including, handling cash & credit transactions, computer, printer, fax, etc; perform basic math. Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) Experience using and maintaining CRM records.
  • Understand written procedures; understand complex, multi-step & oral instructions, and the capacity to multi-task in a structured work environment, are essential.
  • Work with limited supervision following standardized practices &/or methods.
  • Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships. Must have good interpersonal relationship skills in dealing with superiors, referral sources, co-workers, and outside vendors.
  • Help to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
  • Possess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
  • Good working knowledge of HVAC, appliances, and parts is essential.
