Description
The Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Manage intercompany billings, transactions and reconciliation
- Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
- Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
- Preparing tax returns including payroll tax and sales tax
- Participate in various department wide initiatives
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers and reconciliation
- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Assisting the Controller and CFO as needed
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Current and relevant ERP system experience, Infor a plus
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance or other relevant fields. 4 years of accounting experience, CPA preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
