Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in assigned areas.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, and stripping to maintain polished surfaces.
- Execute industrial and commercial cleaning procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by replenishing supplies and removing waste.
- Act as a porter by transporting materials and supplies throughout the facility as required.
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests or emergencies to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or facilities maintenance roles is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and stripping is a plus.
- Familiarity with industrial and commercial cleaning practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks throughout the shift.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to custodial work, including residential painting if necessary.
