What are the responsibilities and job description for the A/R Specialist position at DAA Seattle?
We have an immediate opening for an A/R Specialist to join our Front Office team. In this position, you will ensure all incoming payments get deposited each day and will work closely with the Office and Fleet Manager to effectively manage accounts receivable. This position requires the individual to provide excellent internal and external customer service as well as to provide general support to other departments when necessary and assigned.
Job Duties
- Apply payments received timely and accurately to AR accounts on a daily basis.
- Process credit card payments for the collection of AR’s.
- Providing communication to the Front Office and Collections Specialist regarding all incoming electronic funds to be applied to vehicle purchases and/or AR accounts.
- Process car returns and inherits, including communication with appropriate individuals as needed.
- Ensures that charges are posted accurately to customer accounts when documents are presented by other departments for posting.
- Prepare and send out AR statements as requested and at the end of each accounting month.
- Call attention to delinquent accounts and communicating that information to auction management.
- Serves as back for other accounting duties as assigned when necessary.
- Keeps inventory of printed forms, office supplies and equipment to ensure necessary forms or supplies are on hand at all times.
- Processes Forms 8300 for qualifying cash and cashier’s check payment per IRS requirements.
- Providing clerical support as needed. This includes helping customers at the counter, scanning, processing mail, etc.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about customer service, has a high attention to detail, is analytical and can maintain a professional, calm demeanor during difficult conversations. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years of administrative work experience, a minimum of two years of previous A/R experience excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Previous automotive industry experience is a plus. A valid driver’s license, three-year driving abstract and background check will be required for this position.
