The Team Lead provides skills instruction to persons with developmental disabilities, assists with curriculum development, and with staff training. The Team Lead must lead by example and exemplify the utmost professionalism in coordinating programs, providing guidance to staff, and working with individuals with disabilities in the community or a residential setting. The Team Lead is supervised by the Program Manager, may also report to a lead Behaviorist, and will be required to support multiple participants.


Direct Service Duties (70-80%): Provides skills instruction to participants in the community, one-on-one or in a group (1:2, 1:3).


Administrative Duties (20-30%): Assists the Program Manager with program development, staff training, and other relative administrative duties.

Direct Service Duties (70-80%):
  • Implementation of IPP (Individual Program Plan) and ISP (Individual Support Plan) goals in a community setting or within the constructs of the plan.
  • Person-centered planning of meaningful activities of the participant’s choosing on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Tracking and documenting data necessary for ISP and behavior goals.
  • Manages weekly spending budgets for each participant.
  • Supports personal care for participants, as needed.
  • Ensures transportation needs are met.
  • Provides back-up coverage, as needed.
  • Communicates with conservators who desire frequent updates (and/or family members if the participant agrees).
  • Acts as liaison/consultant to the participant’s team and advocate for those served.
  • Communicates with Regional Centers and/or third party collaborators in a professional and polite manner.
  • Participates in all Regional Center audits, as requested.
  • Adheres to Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
  • Adheres to the Emergency Disaster Plan for each participant.

  • Documents and communicates all progress and issues reported by participants or staff to the Program Manager
  • Participates in staff training, as necessary, to keep in compliance with company, Regional Center, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Attends annual, quarterly, and/or circle of support team meetings, as needed.
  • Assumes any other administrative responsibilities assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities or other human services delivery systems.
  • No criminal record.
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have own transportation, valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record and satisfy the minimum state requirement regarding auto insurance.
  • Must be able exercise judgment and initiative in management of participants and staff.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally, written and orally, with participants, their families/conservators, Regional Center representatives, and other community members
  • Must be able to effectively organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record.


Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to effectively implement First Aid/CPR
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple assignments at one time.
  • Must be able to assist people with during seizures
  • Must be capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
