Summary:
The Events and Social Media Clerk is responsible for executing the organization’s social media presence, creating engaging content, and supporting marketing initiatives. This role involves daily content creation and posting, responding to interactions on social media, and collaborating with the Marketing team on larger campaigns. The coordinator must have a flexible schedule to attend occasional night and weekend events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management
- Post daily content on social media platforms, including stories, posts, reels, and notes on Instagram.
- Respond to Instagram comments and direct messages as needed, pending approval.
- Maintain and update the organization’s Linktree links.
- Check for and organize new photos from Google Drive and OneDrive every other day.
- Create a monthly social media calendar, ensuring it is finalized by the 24th of each month.
- Host and participate in monthly social media calendar meetings.
- Monitor engagement metrics and suggest improvements to enhance online presence.
- Content Creation
- Develop creative marketing content for social media, including posts, stories, and reels.
- Proofread and edit marketing materials to ensure high-quality output.
- Marketing Support
- Assist in preparing marketing materials for events.
- Fulfill marketing requests and monitor project tasks as needed.
- Event Participation
- Attend and support night and weekend events as needed to represent the organization.
- Assist with event setup, execution, and content capture.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least one year of experience with basic knowledge of using social media channels like Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).
- Education/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications in digital marketing or social media management is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Microsoft Teams, and standard office software. Familiarity with social media analytics tools is an advantage.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility: Must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules, including attending evening or weekend events.
