Purpose of Role
This position will work with the Men's Volleyball program. Under the supervision of the Head Coach, Men's Volleyball the position will help support all aspects of the program including travel, recruiting, administration, and coaching/mentoring. The selected applicant will receive a tuition waiver for up to 18 graduate credits for the 2025-2026 academic calendar year (August 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026). The applicant will be responsible for the costs of any fees and books associated with the program. Campus housing may be offered if space is available. This position may be renewed for the next academic year, conditional upon satisfactory performance, availability of funds, adherence to employment protocols and remaining in good academic standing. The selected person will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the term of appointment. The individual selected for the position may also be expected to cover a minimum of 5 hours of responsibilities assigned in event operations, facility management, and any other duties as assigned.
About This Opportunity
Joining our Athletic team, the Graduate Assistant Men's Volleyball will be responsible for the following:
Tasks/Duties Performed:
Primary Duties:
- Coordinates team travel during championship season.
- Assist in design and structure of practice activity and in game strategy.
- Assist the head coach in scouting opponents. This position requires the ability to break down and evaluate film through Volleymetrics.
- Supports a positive and competitive team environment.
- Recruit on and off campus and be involved in on-campus visits.
- Organize and arrange camps and clinics, including but not limited to; working camp sessions.
- Assists with community service initiatives and program and college wide fundraising efforts.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Paid Stipend to cover 9 graduate credits per semester. Fees not covered.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of NCAA Division I/II rules.
- Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional business hours.
Required Qualifications
1) Bachelor's degree.
2) Admission into a post graduate program at Daemen University is required.
3) Demonstrated computer proficiency.
