What are the responsibilities and job description for the YouthBuild Project Coordinator position at DAEOC?
We invite you to join Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, as part of our expanding Adult Education program. The YouthBuild Project Coordinator oversees and directs the planning, organizing, and implementation of the YouthBuild Program. This position supports the work of DAEOC committed to empowering people to make positive change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily supervision to a crew of program participants engaged in work-based learning on a affordable housing construction site.
- Facilitate construction training curriculum to meet the standards of industry-recognized credentials, including carpentry skills, proper tool and equipment usage, demolition, framing, insulation, roofing, drywall, and finish carpentry.
- Serve as a liaison and on-site contact for general contractors, sub-contractors, and project sponsors.
- Serve as Safety Officer, ensuring program participants follow proper safety procedures and protocols, including MHYC and OSHA standards. Promote a positive safety culture.
- Provide consistent and ongoing feedback, formal and informal, to all program participants.
- Promote a solution-focused youth development environment in which program participants have the opportunity to develop new skills
- Maintain thorough records throughout the length of the program, including, but not limited to tracking programmatic activities, training, project accomplishments, daily attendance and time records.
- Support YouthBuild Program efforts to lead program participants toward achieving program goals, including high-quality project completion, certificate and diploma attainment, post-program placement, and positive program participant experiences
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- This position supervises the YouthBuild Construction Instructor and identified work-sites.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years experience in construction management
- Required past supervisory role
- Clean Background Check and Drug/Alcohol Test
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings. Must be able to travel the six-county area occasionally and go out-of-area on a periodic basis.
